There are many definitions of intelligence and this is something I think about often, especially from the point of view of artificial intelligence. From the point of view of society, I love this quote from Naval Ravikant: “The only real test of intelligence is if you get what you want out of life.” From this point of view, we do not need to compare ourselves with anyone else, we are only looking inward. Our comparison instead becomes “Did I do better today than yesterday?” What is it that you want out of life? What are the questions you think about daily? If you formulate clearly what you want out of your life and then are able to obtain it, then you will succeed and you are intelligent. Quick hack, if you are not able to get what you want out of your life, lower your standard and achieve that first, then raise the bar.
